Acne Problems - Seeking Help
Almost everyone on the planet suffers from acne at one point or another during their lifetime.
For some, dealing with acne problems is as simple as just giving it a little time to pass.
Others, unfortunately, deal with some serious issues that require medications (natural or otherwise) and even medical advice.
Deciding if and when to seek advice or more advanced treatments for acne problems is a personal decision, but there are some basic rules of thumb to consider along the way.
There are three basic levels of severity with acne. Not all cases require advanced help. The three levels of acne problems are:
- Mild. Anyone suffering from mild acne problems will have an occasional breakout or blemish. These cases generally pass very quickly and tend not to leave scarring as long as the person suffering doesn’t mash, mush or scrape the pimples. If mild acne is repetitive, over-the-counter medications or even natural cures and cleansers can be of help. Seeking advanced help isn’t generally necessary in mild cases.
- Moderate. If acne problems are persistent and tend to affect at least one area on the face on a fairly regular basis without covering it, the case might be described as moderate. Over-the-counter medications and creams and even medical advice might be desired in these cases. Since acne can cause scarring, seeking some treatment help whether medical or natural might be advised.
- Severe. Severe acne breakouts go well beyond a cheek or chin having a pimple or two. In these cases, scarring is common and breakouts are persistent and expansive. Seeking out a cure or preventative in these cases is almost always advised. Prescription medicines can help in these cases for some; others find natural treatments work very well.
