Acne Scars - Microdermabrasion
If you suffer from acne, chances are you have also experienced acne scarring.
This can occur from deep pimples embedded in the skin, from using cleansers that are too rough on your skin, or from trying to reduce pimple size by squeezing them.
What remains are dark spots that can make your skin look dry, dull, and unattractive.
While there are many treatments available for acne scar removal, microdermabrasion is usually the most effective. This process will remove the top layers of skin to reveal new skin underneath. If your acne scars are within the top layers, you may be able to reduce their appearance using an at home microdermabrasion kit instead of spending money at the dermatologist's office.
Microdermabrasion by Dermatologists
Microdermabrasion procedures at the dermatologists rely on small crystals that take off layers of dead skin cells, while at-home microdermabrasion kits use small round discs that have a rough surface. You should see results within a few hours after use. Your skin will appear brighter because the dead skin cells have been removed.
At-Home Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion kits are easy to use and will not take more than ten or fifteen minutes of your time. It is important to read all of the directions carefully. Do not use these kits more than twice a week or you may irritate the skin.
